3Gs Development Trust

The 3G’s Community Development Trust was established in August 1999 as Company Limited by Guarantee (3831737) and a Registered Chartiy (1100265).

The early foundations of the Trust originated from the work and membership of 3 local Tenants and Residents Associations namely ‘New Gurnos’, Old Gurnos and Galon Uchaf (hence the name 3G’s) These 3 Associations worked in partnership under an ‘umbrella’ body called the 3G’s Community Development Trust.

The Trust’s mission is to enable people residing in the 3G’s area to live a better quality of life by making their neighourhoods more cohesive, vibrant, productive, safe and sustainable places where people can work and thrive together and are proud to belong and contribute to their community.

HAVE YOUR SAY

The Welsh Government has set up a Valleys Taskforce to look at what needs to be done to reinvigorate and regenerate our Valleys communities. Please note that the Taskforce is coming to Redhouse in Merthyr Tydfil at 6pm on Monday 13th February to hear views of the local community and I would urge you if possible to attend and say what you think needs to be done.

A Ministerial Taskforce has been set up to improve prosperity in the South Wales valleys.
What is the taskforce?
The Minister for Lifelong Learning, the Cabinet Secretary for Economy and the Minister for Skills, have joined together, with a group of expert advisors, to develop a fresh approach to delivering real change in the valleys.
The taskforce will build upon work previously undertaken in a more coordinated and targeted way which will meet the needs of our valley communities.
