The Busy Bee Action Group is a constituted group made up of local residents. They meet monthly to discuss and oversee the management, sustainability and activities held at the centre.

Examples of some of the activities and groups that take place at the centre are listed below:

  • Computer Group
  • Stop Smoking Support Group
  • Healthy Lifestyles
  • Coffee morning

All are invited to join in the activities. Come and tell us what activities/groups you would like to see at the centre. We welcome all ideas and suggestions.

Come join our Cookery Course on Tuesdays 9.30 – 11.30.

Join Busy Bee Community Computer Club on Mondays & Fridays 10.00 – 12.00 Open to all Adults – Free of charge.

After school clubs run at the Busy Bee Family Centre four evenings a week as follows:

The children enjoy many different activities including arts & crafts, cooking, computing & visiting speakers. The activities often follow a theme such as Space, People Who Help Us & Pirates. The children are given a healthy snack during their group session.

Day A.M. P.M. Early Evenings
Monday BASIC SKILLS – An opportunity for adults to improve their literacy, numeracy and computers skills. PUSHY MOTHERS – Bring your babies in their prams and enjoy a walk, chat and meet other Mams. AFTER SCHOOL CLUB – Activities for children aged 5-12 YRS.
Tuesday BASIC COOKING – Learn how to make nutritious and tasty meals on a budget. CREDIT UNION – 2pm – 3pm collection point. A safe and secure way to save.
JOB CLUB– Search for jobs on line and view the latest vacancies.
AFTER SCHOOL CLUB (3½-6YRS)
Wednesday FAMILY HISTORY – Come along and compile your family tree. BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS – Courses available at all levels.
NEW GURNOS RESIDENTS BOARD MEETINGS – First & third Wednesday of each month.

Thursday STOP SMOKING SUPPORT GROUP – Drop in and get support from fellow quitters.
INCREDIBLE YEARS (WEBSTER STRATTON) – Parenting programme.
BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS – Courses available at all levels.
COFFEE AFTERNOON- Come and meet new friends and enjoy a cup of coffee (all proceeds pay for children’s activities and trips at the centre.)
AFTER SCHOOL CLUB (9-12YRS)
Friday “SPEAKEASY” COURSE – A course for parents to help them to talk to their children about sex and relationships.
BASIC SKILLS - An opportunity for adults to improve their literacy, numeracy and computers skills.
CRAFT GROUP – Explore your creative side by learning a variety of new crafts e.g. Egg Decoration

Summer Holiday club will be running for 4 weeks from the 27th of July to the 21st of August.

The club will run on Mondays –Thursdays each week. The programme is as follows:
