Life Support

Galon Uchaf Community Centre
Tues/Wed/Thurs Term time

Did you leave school with little or no qualifications, and now find yourself struggling to get the job or career you always wanted? Then this course may be just what you need to get yourself back on the right track.

Over the past 3 years we have supported many local people into a successful return to learning and gaining the qualifications they need to get on.

Quality childcare is provided free of charge wherever possible as we know what a difference this makes.

But that is just part of what this innovative programme provides – that’s why it’s called Life Support. We understand how difficult it is for people, and that is why as well as qualified tutors, we also have experienced full time support workers Deanne and Amanda on hand to help whenever a problems arise.

We offer a wide range of subjects geared to a career in the Health and Social Care Sector, which equip people with the qualifications they need to move either into Higher Education or other suitable training courses.

Subjects covered:

  • English
  • Maths
  • Sociology
  • Psychology
  • Counselling
  • I.T.
  • Communication Skills
  • Women's Studies

A big part of what we do is offer careers advice, and we will work with you to make sure you reach your goal. Where possible we arrange work placements with local employers e.g. local hospital and schools, so that learners can get a taster in their chosen future career.

But it’s not all classroom – we also include a lot of outdoor activities and social events that help build peoples’ confidence to deal with new situations and challenges.

Please call us for a chat if you want to find out more or register for the Programme – it’s all free of charge.
